to launch Louis Vuitton’s new line of shoes and lingerie, Terry Richardson shot 14 pinups styled by editor-in-chief Carine Roitfield for a supplementary calendar in the Dec/Jan issue of Vogue Paris. my faves are Misses February (Hanne) and March (Taryn), September (Georgina) and November (Aline):

driven
summer in this part of the globe is fast approaching and all i've been thinking of shoe-wise are driving moccasins:

Louis Vuitton

Gucci

Gucci

Yves Saint Laurent

Tod's (purple and blue especially)
worn sans (or obscured) socks with khakis, jeans or a smart pair of shorts, these are the perfect laid-back style for summer that could take you anywhere else your trusty Havaianas can't. but the thing is, does it matter that i don't actually drive?

a fresh new façade
since i won't get to see it in person until February, my brother thoughtfully SMS'd me these photos of the just uncovered LV Collins St. boutique:

its part of the reconnaisance work he's doing for me while im away. i love the new lighter colour they painted the outside with. and i see they've installed new prominent lit signages. before, the only signs they had were on the brown tarps on each of those narrow windows. they have also installed some of those layered Damier pattern glass we first saw in the Shaghai boutique:

peering through one of the windows, my brother espied what seems to be a large Richard Prince Jokes canvas hanging on one of the walls. could it possibly be an original? i wonder if they will have those LED light displays too?
now im even more excited to see the store's new layout.
good work bro!

this is the first ever photo of the highly anticipated re-issue of the LV Monogram Graffiti by Stephen Sprouse.
that's right kids, they glow in the dark. it would be interesting to see how they look like in daylight. im seriously loving the orange Keepall. i think orange will match real well with the brown Monogram canvas. plus it will blend the vachetta leather handles and trims when they eventually attain that famous patina. its definitely on top of my list for Spring 2009. could those high-tops be part of the Kanye West collaboration?
in the past few days more info about this line have emerged. i can now tell you that the reason behind the re-issue is that there will be a major retrospective of Stepehen Sprouse's work at the Deitch Gallery in New York. the new Neon Graffiti collection will be released worldwide when the show opens on 9 December 2008. more info about this exhibit can be found here: Rock on Mars.
the Stephen Sprouse love fest continues with the publication of a book by Roger and Mauricio Padilha. a special edition Louis Vuitton cover will also be released on the same day as the opening. while the regular print version (below) will come out on 13 January 2009.

more info at: amazon.com
i can also now tell you that the neon Graffiti collection will comprise a Keepall 50, Speedy 30, Boite Chapeau and a selection of hard-sided suitcases just like in the original 2001 edition. plus the additon of a Neverfull MM. SLGs (small leather goods) are still unconfirmed, but are prob also included. it will come in orange, pink and green plus there's also a mention that the print will come in two sizes: a regular and a smaller print version which instantly doubles the selection. so far, the Monogram Rose collection will include a Speedy, Mini Pochette Accessoires and a cashemere scarf in the same style as the hugely popular Leopard and Monogramouflage stoles. other items in this capsule collection include "t-shirts and dresses in matte jersey, sunglasses, a towel, a sweatband and bracelets". but probably the hottest piece of them all is a one-off customized Graffiti skateboard and matching fitted hard case which is to be auctioned off. be sure to expect a Pharrell vs. Kanye battle for that special top deck.
i never really been excited about fluoro until now.

first look to be missed =(
i got sent a card in the mail the other day inviting me to a preview of the newly renovated LV Collins St boutique on Wednesday, 26 Nov.

here's how the boutique looked like last month:

also check out this previous entry: a mini makeover

invited guests are broken up into hourly rosters and i got the 11 am shift. i was told it will be like a house inspection of the revamped space including the newly installed VIP suites on the floor above. they will also have the 2009 Cruise Collection on display as well for our perousal. unfortunately, i've already gone interstate and won't be back until next year. but my brother might still be able to go. hopefully photos are allowed. i've asked him to do reconnaissance work for me while im away.

the iconoclast redux
rumours have been circulating that Louis Vuitton will be re-issuing their legendary Monogram Graffiti collection designed by Stephen Sprouse next year. initially it was said that they will be redoing the black & while glazed leather version from the 2001 collection:

then a fellow tPF member said it will be on Monogram canvas with the Graffiti print done in neon colours.

a Speedy and Keepall is most likely included on the lineup along with a couple of newbies such as the Neverfull and Lockit. im definitely interested in a Keepall. im thinking orange or yellow graffiti would be fantastic. hopefully photos will emerge soon.
but not only that, following the success of Stephen Sprouse's leopard pattern seen on the hottest scarf since Fall 2006...

...they will also reintroduce his rose print in red or possibly neon colours as well. earmarked for a Valentine's Day release, so far it will only be done in a Mini Accessories Pochette. here's the original rose print from the S/S 2001 runway:

i like how the pattern almost mimics camouflage. but if done in a different colour, im not sure if it will still have the same effect. although i still think it has potential.
i regretfully passed on these when the first ones came out in 2001. since then i swore not to make the same mistake.

more tempting Gucci goodness
i haven't been this excited or interested about Gucci for quite some time. im seriously digging their Men's Cruise '09 Collection. here's a few more items that have caught my eye:

this bag is on top of my list at the moment. i want it enough to cheat on my true LoVe.

some more of that fantastic tattoo print:

i really like the combination of red patent with their white GG coated canvas. plus, 25% of the sale of these bags go to Unicef.
lately, i've been thinking of getting a pair of red shoes. Gucci seems to have the ones for me.

here's the same pair as above but in dark green:

the only other colours i saw in the boutique were blue and a rather unimpressive grey. sadly no red. but the blue is very tempting. these fringed patent versions with ethnic trim intrigues me too:

i quite like this grey tattoo cashmere v-neck jumper:

and im pretty errrm... knots about these ties too:

all photos (bar one) were enthusiastically pinched from Gucci. thanks!

inked
i got me a fantastic pair of shoes today from Gucci called the Pioneer Tattoo Sirene lace-ups:

its a play on the traditional oxford shoe printed with old fashioned sailor themed tattoo images.

reminds me of those infamous tattooed pigs by one of my favourite artists Wim Delvoye.

from the Gucci Cruise Collection 2009:
here they are worn with my fave purple bishop's knee high socks i bought in Rome:

i also saw the matching mermaid buckle belt at the boutique. unfortunately the only piece they had wasn't in my size. but im likely to be coming back for those later.

being completely devoid of tattoos and piercings, this is probably the closest i'd go to sporting some. i love 'em!
