im kinda sorta maybe...

...liking these:

inkylips.blogspot.com

these are the "Mr Hudsons" (named after the GOOD Music artist and 808 collaborator) by Kanye West for Louis Vuitton. first seen back in
January*, they made their second public appearance when Mr West wore it to the recently concluded Givenchy F/W 2009 show

Photobucket

of all the designs - he did three basic styles in various permutations for men - these are the only ones that quite appeal to me. i prefer the low cut style and the slight preppy boat shoe vibe of this particular pair. i quite like the tassels too. though i don't see myself wearing it with acid washed jeans like he does, i can see it working better with chinos or even grey trousers.

i wish he'd also include this little piston seen on this women's model:

its the "Graduation" bear head by Takashi Murakami used his previous album:

Photobucket  cute huh?

here's the rest of the men's collecton including their (tentative) prices:

though these are not quite my style (bar one), they don't seem too bad either to be honest. i did expect them look somewhat like those YSL and Pierre Hardy high tops Kanye West is very fond of wearing. so no surprises there. but i still have to see these in real life to pass my final judgment.

all tied up and LoVing it.

my
Graffiti Hit List is now complete. i finally have the necktie!

Photobucket

i really thought i have missed out on this, but my ever able SA rang me up yesterday to tell me the good news. she even managed to get me two neckties all the way from Hong Kong. YIPEE!!!

Photobucket

the other one is for my dad. i originally requested for three because my brother wants one too. but two is better than none.

a skinny tie requires a smaller collar. conventional collars will be disproportionate. im quite pleased with how it looks in these photos.

here's my Stephen Sprouse Tribute Monogram Graffiti family:

i think im pretty done for Spring 2009. i've got everything i set out to acquire this season and then some. must focus on Fall '09 now. im praying to the LV gods particularly for this:

i do hope this makes the final cut and that it won't cost a limb or two *fingers crossed*

the 4th and final reveal

ok, i've finally taken photos of the rest of the February 2009 intake.

first up, is the Explorer sneakers in brandy:
Photobucket

made of calf leather with traditional brogue detailing, this pair combines the "elegance of a formal shoe with the ease of a sneaker" - the perfect travel shoe.

i also purchased this book to add to my growing Louis Vuitton publications:

i don't play much, but these deck of cards are just to temptingly affordable to pass up:

and last but not least, the Champs-Elysées tie pin:

Photobucket

the pattern or interlocking quatrefoils mimics the iron grills seen on the Mothership in Paris. here's how it looks on:

Photobucket

here it is with my much loved Palladium tie clip from the Men's F/W 2004 show collection:

so there you have it folks. sorry it took a little longer than it should.

i wonder what March has in store for me?

Feature Bag #21: Monogram China Run Naviglio

my amazing SA did it again. presenting the China Run Naviglio:

Photobucket

this collection was originally meant for worldwide release back in May 2008 to commemorate the return of the Louis Vuitton Classic Car Race to China (the last was in 1998). but boycotts - in response to the French handling of the Beijing Olympic Torch Realy thorugh Paris, and President Sarkozy's remarks afterwards - caused delays and postponements for both the race and the merchandise. when they finally pushed through, Australia lost their allocation. surprise, surprise. but the branch manager of my favoured local boutique was able to procure this bag for me from overseas.

the collection is composed of Monogram canvas bags and accessories including a pair of Utah leather driving shoes and white lambskin driving gloves:

Photobucket

they all feature traditional screen printed stripes in red and white and the crest for the LV Classic Car Race:

Photobucket

the panda is a cute touch. the inside is lined in the most vivid red cotton fabric:

we all know that this colour is auspicious to the Chinese. its actually a different red than the ones seen on some Damier ebene pieces.

but wait, here's the matching necktie too:

Photobucket

its a very fine silk in the most elegant shade brown can get. but what i like is the little vintage Ferrari:

Photobucket

the tie is quite nondescript on its "exposed" side but like i've mentioned before, few rarely evade the LV monogram:

Photobucket

it gradually appears in the weave towards the narrow end which also bears the crest like a little surprise:

Photobucket

so there you go... another reveal out of the way

Photobucket

there's still a couple more to follow. ;-)

Eye LoVe

i must've mentioned it a few too many times in the past but its the truth, Louis Vuitton makes one of the best sunglasses in the market. they're just as addictive - sometimes even as expensive - as their bags. here's another pair to add to my stable:

Conspiration GM in gold and tortoise:
Photobucket
Photobucket

its a pretty basic semi-aviator style. but like with every pair they produce, they never skimp on the details. the temple hinges are based on the hardware used in their trunks and the (in)famous house monogram is engraved along the edge of the frame:
Photobucket

here they are with the rest of the family:

clockwise from top right: Conspiration GM, Millionaire (1st generation), Faux-Semblant Rectangle, Obsession Rectangles, Raymundo (Spring 2006).
