only 3 days to go until Sprousemania hits. according to WWD, the complete Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Tribute Collection will be launched at the Louis Vuitton SoHo boutique in New York on Thursday, 8 Jan. while the worldwide release follows on 2 Feb. although some of the Monogram Rose pieces will be available at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide starting Friday.
with the SoHo boutique being the epicentre of this new collection, LV will be offering super limited pieces exclusive to that boutique alone. one of them (well three actually) will be a skateboard deck printed with neon Graffiti encased in a custom-fitted trunk in Monogram canvas:

asking price: US$8250. way too expensive for a skatebaord, but i think it is pretty reasonable for something this exclusive. besides, part of the sale will go to Free Arts NYC, an organization that provides art mentoring and art education to underprivileged children in New York.
the WWD article also mentions that the company will be "wrapping the store in vinyl and spray painting neon graffiti all over the facade. the window display will feature a 6-foot neon light installation in Sprouse’s Rose motif. the store’s interior, enhanced with black brick wall facing, will also be sprayed with the neon graffiti".
a fellow tPF member is so fortunate to be invited to the launch party which Marc Jacobs is hosting and will feature a special performance by Debbie Harry. i've asked for lots of pics. this is going to be awesome. stay tuned!
